The 2016 Ogden Arts Festival a couple weeks was a huge success! Congratulations Amir and Nurture the Creative Mind for organizing a great event, we can't wait to go back next year.
The Ogden Arts Fest was a great platform for The Banyan Collective to showcase its catalog of shows: We set the Tan Van up front and center and while Brandon emceed the event, Todd provided the color commentary and I just hung out and made sure everybody had enough to drink;-) We recorded a couple MGN shows, an Ogden Outdoor Adventure show, recorded two incredible Van Sessions, launched LITerally and even re-launched Bug Huckers.
First up on Mr. Goodyear's Neighborhood was Marcy Rizzi and Kylee Hallows who are both opening new retail shops on Ogden's Historic 25th Street. Marcy's opening an independent book store called 'Booked on 25th' while Kylee and her business partner, Blake Lundell, are opening 'Lavender Vinyl,' a new independent record store. The first day of the Arts Fest was wet and cold, but Marcy and Kylee were good sports as they all cuddled under blankets with 'Todd to the Top' while we chatted them up about their new businesses and Ogden's need for print and vinyl art..books and records! Why doesn't Ogden have its own independent book and record stores!?
This was a fun interview, we could have geeked out all day about books and music. In fact, in a couple of weeks, we can all visit their new shops and geek out all day about our favorite authors and vinyl LP's. Please give them your support and take a listen to the interview, they give us all the secret deatils on the new Harry Potter book and the new Radiohead album.
